Exhibiting Gallery
4710 Contemporary
Art Gallery
Gallery 4710 opened five years ago in Tbilisi and was the first gallery dedicated to working with emerging art and presenting young artists to the public. From its very first year, the gallery has carved out a significant place in Tbilisi’s art scene by focusing on young artists and their experiments, while also prominently featuring queer art and the empowerment of female artists. Gallery 4710 has been a source of inspiration for many young Georgian artists, as emerging artists have been placed in the spotlight. Over the years, the gallery has collaborated with numerous artists, many of whom have become significant names in the contemporary art world, including Tamar Nadiradze and Merab Gugunashvili, who participate in various international and local exhibitions throughout the year, including in London’s Frieze and Lisbon’s Arco. At Arco, Gallery 4710, representing Nadiradze and Gugunashvili, was named the best gallery of 2024 in a curated section by Chus Martínez.
At Asia Now, Gallery 4710 features three artists: Tamar Nadiradze, Merab Gugunashvili, and Merab Kopaleishvili. Gugunashvilis’s small ceramic sculptures and Nadiradze’s works on paper, along with ceramic tiles, create a cohesive poetry that explores the constant search for self, body, and home, sharing the author’s personal experiences and making us part of a singular narrative told through the unique language of art. Additionally, Merab Kopaleishvili is presented in collaboration with the art organization Reach Art Visual.
